Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself

I think that John Tapene, was in a bad mood when he made this statement; I read his tone that he was a little angry. I agree with this statement, in that teenagers do need to realize that the world is unforgiving, and that teenagers need to go do something to better themselves. It makes me feel like I should do more to prepare myself for the future, for example it wouldn't hurt to learn how to cook. But I believe that parents do need to give their kids support.

Tell me if you agree with this statement and then explain why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted it, I should be able to use it."

I do believe in this statement. If people don't want people to use their pictures, then they should not post it on the internet. However, I do believe that you should give the source of picture, to give credit to the person who took the picture. People need to be careful to what they post on the internet, because it can be a big mistake. For example I did not take the picture below the person on the cite did.

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your life here at BVHS. What activities or clubs are you involved in? What year are you in school? What is your favorite class and/or teacher so far this year? What are you looking forward to this school year?

My name is Thomas Hempy, and I am a junior. My first to years I was involved in soccer, but I don't do that anymore. My favorite teacher is Mr. Winslow, he is pretty cool. This school year I am looking forward to the summer, winter break, and spring break.

What do you know about Web Design right now? What did you know about Web Design before you walked in to this class?


I currently know that html is a way to create a website, and that there is a lot of coding. I know that you start the coding with <!DOCTYPE> and end the coding with </!DOCTYPE>. I also learned that it only takes one letter to mess up everything, so you have to be very careful when coding. I have learned that every code begins with <, and will end with </>. I learned how to make the title, headers, lists, paragraphs, and how to style everything. I also learned that there are a lot of tags to add to make the website look nicer. The only thing I knew about web design before the school year started, was that it involved coding, and that there are a lot of different ways to design a website. I am interested in seeing what all I am going to learn this semester.
